replacment 6.5" from Parts express?

It would seem like we have blown our left front mid. A 6.5" diamond audio D6 series.
While we like the mids/highs from this set, the crossover point with the power we were giving it was about 500hz, so not alot of midbass from it. So we're looking for some better midbass

Anyhow, the silk D6 tweeters sound great and the crossovers have the rear fill we're using for our individual left/right tweeters. So buying a new set isn't really needed. I'm hoping we can replace the mids for under $200. As luck has it, I received a Parts express catalog today. Lotsa cheap speakers there!!

I was looking at these Tang band 6.5"

The only thing that isn't good about it as I see it is the power handling...only 50wrms

Any others in the catalog that you guys use/would use for front stage midbass?

I wouldn't sweat the power handling if you are running it as midbass. IMO the biggest challenge with that driver is depth and the limited high frequency extension. Definitely need a midrange with it.

Ohh right, I kinda missed that thanks alot Dukk. I wasn't planning on running 3 way:ohwell: To excited about the low end, I didn't even check the high end...:eyes:
They have this one http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=264-874

Any opinion?

They're a few more dollars, but within budget. They look better suited to a 2 way system. But now I'm just wondering if there's better to be had for the same cost. :dunno:
Things were easier when I knew less :retard:
