Ribbon tweets and others...
#1
Probably been over a year since I last posted in this side of the forum... just would like to see some opinions on this board of sq dudes. So has anyone used ribbons in their car? I know panasonic used to make them a while back, but I figured why not use some nice ones made for home. What I'm concerned about is how durable they are... weather resistant etc. Do they handle the cold well?
In addition, Genesis recently released a dual concentric tweet... similar to the vifa/scanspeak ones. I've heard a bit about their great off axis response and would like to know if anyone has had experience with them.
Thanks in advance for responses!

The EMIT tweeters were a bit much in Infinity's smaller speakers RS-3 and smaller. They would be pretty zingy (that is a word right) in near field listening but I really loved the RS-1B I thought it was the best speaker available till the Apogee Diva and Duetta Signature. The RS-1B had, 2 bass towers with servo controlled woofers, and the EMIT wasnt overpowered by the bass.

I did some work with the Emits in A Pillars, I found that if crossed (16k) over high enough they added a good even amount of "air" to the sound stage, making a rainbow effect almost perfectly flat. I wouldn't run them as a main tweeter though
