Rookie SQ Advice
Sass is right, but don't always listen to all the SQ judges.
Sound and the way we hear it is subjective....if a judge gives you a crappy score because he says for example, your stage is too low....Don't worry about it, because chances are the next show you will score different again.
Not gonna point fingers or say names, but some judges can be really tough on your car...they'll pick it apart and deduct points for stupid things....this can be taken two ways, good or bad. It's good in that, if you know a judge doesn't like something, you can change it. It's bad because not all judges like the same things in install or the SQ portion of the event. It's not really fair IMO, because all the judges are supposed to be trained to look for the same things....but if a judge doesn't like your car, install or SQ, even though both are seamless, you're gonna score lower because of it.
That is total BS if you ask me, but that's the way it works.

I would agree with you guys. I am always overcomplicating things. On that note though when I suggested JL audio was told they dont make quality amps. I want to win when I do this
You dont like it dont post. There is also a bit of contradictory posting here. Which is why I asked, people said I was overthinking and sure I bet I am. When I initially went with the JL amps all I was told is dont go with that. Then later on I am told go with what I like. I didnt even get to ask Impala to expand on his bridging concept although I hope he goes into it one day. You cant even tell me to search as I have on most of the items posted.
Sheesh you would think you would want action on this forum not just snuff it off if ideas are still being posted.

Pitbully - he's not sluffing the post. He's giving me a hard time
Unfortunately you asked for an opinion and everybody is going to recommend their favorite amps. I know I have a short list of amps that I could suggest as well but, really, they're my favorites and not yours.
Like I said - find the power you want, the cosmetics you like, and you're done. If you need a specific feature like a crossover then you have to wiegh that too but with a P9 you don't need the amps to have any processing at all.
Forget every other 'performance' spec the amp has other than the RMS power per channel. You'll be happier for it.

Pitbully,
I'm an amp guy. I love playing with, and talking about amps. This is a rather ironic post in that Dukk, who's probably got 10 times more experience with car amps than me, doesn't have the same enthusiasm that I sometimes express about how amps sound. And he's the one, in my oppinion, that's given the best advice so far.
I realize it can be very confusing sometimes sorting through everybodys tips and tricks for the ultimate amp setup. All I can say to that is, take your time. You won't ever have the "full picture" with regard to amps. There's just too much changing in technology and product pricing to ever resolve an absolute best amp choice. You can however, make a choice that satifies the majority of your needs. NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE INVESTED, YOU WILL ALWAYS FIND A BETTER AMP THAT YOU DON'T OWN. Trust me, I've been through this.
As for YOU Dukk, the best amps cost the most.
PM me Pitbully if you want to hear of my amp exploits.
