nice looking unit...i like the styling, should sound good...unfortunately, i've had problems with sony head units. It's good to see some action on the sacd side at least. Now, if we could only get affordable dvd-a units on the market, I'd be shopping!!

I dont know if I would buy a unit based on the fact it plays SACD, I would be more enclined to by one that can play both it and DVD-a.

I'm not a big fan of Sony either... but SACD (the format) is owned by Sony. now that Sony will be releasing the first, i'm sure others will follow. and I believe Phillip and Harman Int'l is also working on a car unit also.

I would definitely like to see more DVD-a player also...(without the screen) and maybe a player that could play both. since i have a few DVD-a just waiting to be audition in a good system and a few hybrid SACD/CD ones too.

I have heard the SACD vs CD comparison in a high-end home set up a few years ago..... and I'm sold on it. the SACD is definitely the closest to analog.. its warmer, richer, excellent dynamic contrast and definitely less bright and hard sounding then CD.

have to see if its gonna sell.... cause we're in the age of ipod and mp3. The younger generation seems to like quanity vs quality nowadays anyways.

What's the point of buying a mid level Sony deck to play a ultra SQ format?

SACD is dead in the water for car audio, be it better or not, unless someone adds SACD support to their high end units.

I read on several occasions that Sony was waffling on the SACD format... I am surprised they are putting out a deck (3 years too late IMO). SACD is very special but... is it too little too late?
