HELP!
I would like to know what affect sealing the back of a Mid-woofer in a door would have on its behavior.

Why the change does what it does, would be nice.

My problem: a lack of dynamics, and impact from the 500-100 Hz range. Muddy might be a good term too.

What kind of speaker ?

Do you mean sealing the door up or the basket of the speaker ?

Before building an actual enclosure I would try sealing off the door panel with B-quiet or Brown Bread etc. and then using a deflex pad behiind it, that can make a huge difference. I find that for midbass speakers too small of an enclosure can "choke" off the speaker as most of them are designed for infinate baffle use.

Hey I was just going to comment on that and see how many other people knew who they were. Istanbul not Constantinople!

My system is the Dynaudio 360 the mid-woof is in the door of my SHO. I have a door volcano and I was thinking of sealing of the back of the volcano unless you recommend sealing the back of the driver (Maybe an AP?). Goals-detail, articulation, dynamics.
Mid-woofer
35Hz - 3.5kHz; 89 dB sens. 150 watts continuous, 2.2 mechanical Q, 200 mm mounting diameter(7.8"),151 mm (6") effective diameter, 4 ohm, 150 watts system max power xover limiting.

"Boss of Me" (Malcolm in the Middle theme) and "The Beer Song" are good too

Door Volcano??

Sure, door volcano: sudden cone like growth growing from the door that erupts in sound.

LOL!, wish my doors were errupting with sound.. More like a small and unmistakable fizzle :(

I was considering small sealed enclosures for my ID cxs5 drivers (gotta get them back from ID first though.. they are taking their sweet time replacing them).

ID recommended some enclosure volumes for these drivers, and stated that they 'increase the excursion limited power handling, and provide better midbass performance'..

Should I be considering this? I should be able go glass up a small enclosure behind my kick panels.. Think its worth it?
