what do i need to know about them to make a good one ?

done properly the 6th order series tuned pandpass boxes are impressive. just look at the one jl has for there w7. but yes they are hard to design and build. if i were you i would stick with the abc it will perform similar to the 6th order box

what i would like to make an abc box but i need to port the A box into B box ,C box into B box and i need to port B box out to a horn .
where do i start ?

for soem reason i think that you are looking to compete in spl and have good sound? am i right? why not concentrate on one or both but do it by having 2 boxes. one for spl. which would be a ported enclosure. nothing fancy just ported. and one for sq, sealed.
please call me at home im home all day. we can meet today at a starbucks to go over it. but it is obvious that you went into the stores and asked about spl. that would be the only reason they sent you to me. and to reciprocate this, if you want a kickass sq box. go see hzemall, cartunes, georges or audiolines or anyone that will byuild you a great sounding box.
ill make that sun of a biatch loud. they'll make it sweet.
