Sound stage advice
 

I am planning an install and would like some sound imaging advice.
I bought an alpine MRP-f300 4 ch amp and a set of Polk db6501 of a mate cheap. One of the Polk mids has torn on the surrounds of the cone. I plan to buy a new set of the same polks for my front stage .I also have a sub and mono block. My plans are to bridge the 4ch amp to run new polks and use the old ones as rear fill (just the midrange). So I am left with 2 spare tweeters. So I would like to know the best location for tweeters (just the two or even all four).

What would be the best option for me?

1. run splits in front as normal and throw out the extra tweeters? What location for tweeter? As close to the mid as possible ie mounted right next to it? Or on top of dash?

2. Mount front stage splits with tweeter down next to mid. And run tweeters off rears(faded down) up to the top of dash to lift the sound stage? Will this sound muddy?

3. Wire two tweeters on each channel into the crossovers of front stage with on down low next to mid and one on dash. Will this work/sound any good?

I have read a lot of conflicting information on tweeter location and seeing as I have a spare set of the same tweeter, would like to know what the best option would be for sound quality

hmmm, so many choices..,
I choose option # 1
Mount the tweeters within 6 inches of the mid's voice coil.
Keep the extra tweeters, for when you blow the first set.

You can experiment with tweeter placement . Just put enough wire on them to move them around . I like my mid and tweet close together but mounted in the kick panel area. The further away , the wider the dispersion of sound . When you get them angled right,you will get good left/right separation with a nice high center image.
