Sq 10" shallow sub.. What to use???

Sq 10" shallow sub....... What to use???

Looking for suggestions for a pair of 10" subs in trunk small sealed cabinets for my toyota...using audio art amps and possibly hybrid 8"/4"/tweet upfront in the doors...

Looking for suggestions.....

Not sure who all makes shallow drivers worthy of sq install

If you absolutely need a flat 10" sub you very limited in options that will fill in the low end gap that the L8's can't do, For small enclosures with TONS of low end, I'd really reccomend you have a listen to the Arc audio ARC 10's. Pretty amazing how low and clean they will play in .5cu.ft sealed. they are reasonably shallow as well

thanks for suggestion! what are they worth?

The Kenwood Shallow 10's are worth a look as well.....:smilie_da

The kenwoods are pretty solid as well, but with L8's up front, you'll barely notice them since they don't accel at low end bass..

The ARC 10's go for $219 since the distributor has set up ricing to be on par with the US.

Check out the new Polk MM series. Not a true shallow sub but very shallow mounting depth and work great small sealed. If you still need a true shallow sub the Cerwin Vega shallow subs are some of the best one's out and have one of the best Xmax in the true-shallow market.

What about Earthquake's SWS 10 or the Pioneer's 10, they both have really small enclosure requirements???

mohawkboom 03-10-2011 09:53 AM

the earthquakes are pretty bad. the pioneer's are decent, but with L8's up front, you won't notice them overly much.

With all said could you do a 12" ?
What we all recommend then?
Sound integrity make a really nice shallow sub!

yeah, i've heard that the Stereo Integrity BM MK III is one of the best real shallow subs around. Never had the chance to hear one in person though.

Anyone have a chance to?
