I currently have a JL Audio 500/1 pushing my Diamond TDX 12 inch sub. I would like a bit of extra power and I like the idea of gaining some SQ with an A/B class amp vs mono so I am thinking of picking up a SS Tarantula 700/2. It is rated at 700 watts bridged vs JL's 500 watts and advertises a lower THD.

I want to know if anyone has heard both of these amps or at least the SS amp to let me know what you think. Would the SS outperform the JL?

Thanks.

There won't be much of a power difference. The 500/1 is fairly underrated. The TDX's like a good deal of power to really shine. Look for a 1000 watter as you can always turn down the gains if you have to.

1600 watts to one sub at 4 OHMS... sounds like sonic paradise!
