Subwoofer popping

hey guys this kinda tripped me out yday

I was playing a track with high bass and all of a sudden i hear a pop from my subwoofer this is the second time it has happened in two days. Just for information i m Running a 15 Kicker L7 powered by a fusion powerplant amplifier pushing around 800 rms to the sub. Any idea what could be causing this i dont want this sub blowing.

any advice would be great thanks :)

its a low frequency and bottomed out the sub. if u have a subsonic filter i suggest that u put it a bit higher or turn it on. or if u dont have it on the amp u will have to turn the gain a bit down

wow i thought it was almost impossible to bottom out the L7 i guess i was wrong probably drive her down to selective sound and get em to tune my amp properly

My l7 use to do that sometimes, my dealer said it was normal for l7's? dont seem right to me tho....

yea i know i went for the L7 after reading alot online and saw good reviews didnt see any one having bottoming out issues with them

i have no subsonic filter and my CVR bottoms out on some notes. but now i know witch music is just to low of frequency so i turn it down if i want to listen to that song lol

danyman 02-18-2010 09:46 PM

what is ur box tuned at?? i run that song no problem and im tuned at 32hz

feardaspear 02-18-2010 09:48 PM

i think its tuned at 34hz im gunna call the guy who built hte box for me and double check and the surprising part is it only did this once on this song

danyman 02-18-2010 09:50 PM

sometimes its just one note in the whole song. i have about 3 songs like that just one note in the whole thing.. but ya go check back at the shop. might be something wrong or might just need a little tunning
