So separates seems to be a more realistic way for me to go...

How is the Alpine PXA-H100... does it do active crossovers and have adjustable slopes?? Are there any other processors I should look into that act similarily?

So if I got the Alpine CDA105 with that processor, and an amp for the woofers and sub, could I be using the head unit`s amp for tweeters?

Look for a pxa-h700 or 701 with the rux c701 controller...I;ve seen them for as low as 400-500.00 used in excellent condition (that's how i got mine..$400.00 mint plus from a board member). Fantastic processor and does everything you asked plus, time alignment, phase control, 5.1 channel dolby digital, plus, plus, plus...it's a serious piece of equipment.

Except for active crossovers and t/a unless he also want to buy the imprint kit which takes the price way over a 880prs or an mkII and still wouldnt have the options of either.

wrong. Imprint is built into it. You can add the tuning kit though.

Do you not still require PXA-H100 for T/A and crossover settings with the 9886? Been awhile since i looked at Imprint stuff as i decided it wasnt my cup of tea when i realized that you cant fiddle with the settings at all because audissey's worries about you messing up there sound.

stay with the stock head unit and run the ms-8 then take first at worlds.. that simple.. if you want to change out your head unit then go with the pioneer dex p99rs, simple the easiest to use and hands down the best bang for the buck.. oh and unlike clarion or kenwood its RELIABLE!! i have sold and installed for 20 ys with all three brands and i cant tell you how much junk clarion and kenwood put out.. not to say pioneer hasent had there fair share of crap, just the other two seem to be just a bit better at makin junk...
