Tuning/Hissing from Componets.

Hi all, just got the stereo put in, everything sounds good except one thing: I am getting a hissing sound from the componets in the front when music is paused or inbetween songs.

Set up is:

Pioneer 6900UB
Energy 6.5' Componet set powered by a Pioneer gm-x952 amp
2 12 inch pioneer dual voice coil subs powered by a kicker kx600.1 amp

I've been reading that possible amp connections or ground may be the issue.

Keep note that I really have'nt tuned it much yet, could my gains on the componets be too high?

Any help would be great!

gain on your amp. figure out the loudest you need to turn it up on your deck and work down from that. also check all power wires and signal wires dont cross or touch. try and extra insulate your signal wires. finally different grounding options. copper wire conducts better than steel.

Definitely sounds like the gain is set too high.

Sounds a lot like what you best friend who helped you install told you :)

noise..
is it all the time or only when the engine is running
do you hear weird noises when you change tracks on the CD player
is it worse at certain times (rain, morning etc)

BPLEASE. I just wanted to check, Pioneer head units have issues with rca's. Im testing the gains tonight.

How did your testing go? What issue's do Pioneer head units have with rca's?

Internal fuses on the rca's blow, Simply wrap some wire around each rca end and ground it to the chassis of your deck and all will be fine.

Interesting. I have a Pioneer deck and plan to use a pioneer amp or too. Hope I avoid any issues.

It's really not too big an issue to stop from buying pioneer. Knowing about it in advance really helps in avoiding any hair pulling. The process to fix the issue takes all of 10 minutes or less. It was frustrating for me because I had to search the problem out for awhile before finding the fix

Ok, so the problem is with the head unit or the amps? Co-incidentally, I have a Pio head unit and may get a pair of Pio stereo amps.

i have a avic -d3 and with the car on or off and the volume at zero i still get a slight hiss through the tweeters.... gains are all off and was dead silent when i had the jvc and the denford 8250!! so it is the deck... output is 1.7volts at 1000ohms not very good. soooooooo anyone want to trade for a denford 8250, pioneer deh-880 or clarion drz 9255??
