midrange: avi bsm160 midrange/midbass, just a personal favorite that ive had lots of experience with, and have never been dissappointed
tweeter: morel mdt33, to this day the best tweeter ive ever heard
subwoofer: avi sls300, have yet to hear another subwoofer that goes as low with as much upper bass attack as this subwoofer
processor: alpine pxah900, the best processor ever built for 12 volt, period

I am really impressed with the Macrom M1 components ......... in particular the tweeter
the Mbquart PWD 12" I heard sounded pretty good too
other than that I've never really listened to any "high end stuf" other than maybe the morel intregra 8's I had, don't know if they'd really be considered high end

My favorite components thus far have been my old Alpine DDDrives. They sounded really nice in my kick panels and didn't need a lot of airspace to perform. My second favorite (close second) was my Rainbow Pro 3-way set. If I had more time and patience to tune that set, I'm sure it could have outperformed the Alpines though.
I currently have a Seas Lotus Reference set I'm testing out, but they don't work so well in my kicks. I'll re-evaluate after I try them out in my doors.
My favorite deck and processor was by far and away my P9 combo. It was just too expensive to justify keeping in my car though, especially since I don't compete.
My favorite sub is definately my JL 12W6v2. I have heard the W7s, but I don't really notice much difference in sound other than at really high volume. I don't listen to my music THAT loud anyway though.

Dave, you once said that you liked the Polk silk dome the best...(back in '97 - just teasing friend)
Personally I like...
Tweeter: any high quality 1" silk dome
Mid: any high quality 3" soft Dome
Mid-bass: 5.25" in a two-way system or a nice oversize 6.5 or 7" in a three way system
IMO, materials don't matter, engineering does when it comes to mid-bass drivers (let the flames begin!)
Passive xover -- poly caps, air coil
Subs -- 2x original Rockford DVC - RFP1210 powered by a pair of Rockford Power T5002s.
Processor -- Rockford/Harris EPX2 (Even Brandon could use it)
Hmmm.... but which amp will sound the best....
