Undecided on center dash sub 6.5"

Im not sure if this location will help or not, since ill be also installing some RE8" svc subs in the rear of the car also. Im either going to get a Kicker or ED 6.5" sub. The reason for location, is that i dont want to put a sub in the top part of dash. Here is a couple of pictures of location im thinking of going with.

The sub wont be sticking out like the coax is, its just to show the spot id like to put the sub. The sub will probably be two inches from the front of the console covered with a grill to stay hidden. The other thing im curious about is noise cancellation from the 8" subs in the rear of the car(rear deck will also have 6.5" coax for passengers) They will be more then likely facing the center dash from a center armrest in the rear seats. Any input would be great

I'm real curious about this build. Keep us updated, and let me know how it sounds when all is said and done. Always wanted to try something like this.

why not face the speaker towards the fire wall? Mount it behind the center console...

MTT - thanx for the peerless suggestion never thought of that one, but I was bord at work and made a order for the ED. I went with the dual 2ohm, going to drive that with my old but trusty xtant121m

Blu3Fi5h - this will be my 3rd time at front sub. First one was in a 79 dodge pickup. I removed the heater core, and made a sub box that went into HVAC location. That housed a old soundstream spl12 (still have the sub too)
Second time was a in 99dakota extra cab. I hated a sub in the back seat area. So i made a box that fit in between the front seats and that had the two re8svc subs that im going to re use again. That truck actually sound nice to my standards (they are low btw)
And now for the 3rd attempt for a sub in the front, hopefully this will work and sound decent. Still not like most SQ cars, but it will pass for me.

Westec - I never thought of facing it towards the firewall, that actually might even sounds better overall also. I cant really put it behind the console the hvac crap basically hits the tranny tunnel and takes up about 6 inches of space. So it will be more in side the console then anything.

What kinda vehicle is this anyways?

Its going into a 91 Galant VR4 = 4g63+turbo+awd+aws

Nice choice! Pics?

Nothing much to see right now, since the interior is gutted other then the dash. And there is no drive train in it, im yanking a jdm motor out of a 91talon that i own. I would have like to put a built motor in it, but due to lack of hours at work, this will get me by for the year. Ill get some pictures up on the weekend

Oh the ed6.5 has come in, I just have to pick it up.

Well I made a sub box, but not for where I would have liked. Just not enough room in the lower dash then i hoped for, unless I take the hvac stuff out. And thats not going to happen for now.

Over all the sub sounds pretty good, I wont know how everything sounds once I get the car interior back in. So for now im just listening to the sub in the garage. The bad part i think I crapped out my trusty extant 121m, so im not sure if ill repair it or go with something else to power the 6.5. I just might look for a 3way amp to power the fronts and the sub
