What is the best SUB for SQ not SPL
I find most subs create huge amount of pressure in my ears. Is there a SQ Sub out there or are they all mostly SPL types.

Best is just an opinion.
For the money I think Peerless and Dayton make good SQ subs. If you have cash to burn, a JBL GTi or JL W7 will do everything you could ever want. |
ATC makes some very good sounding subwoofers, recently I was very impressed with Focal 33v1 woofer, relatively inexpensive as well

fi q ... idmax.. jbl gti mkii... jl w6

It's not so much what sub you choose.... it's the box that matters ;)

I just got the 10w7 powered by an alpine mrp m1000... good? is the w6 better? would my w7 prefer another brand of amp?
Im pretty happy tho i must say. |
more depends on the box and car, I prefer the W6's over the W7's, but you kind of can't go wrong with either, if you get them in the proper box for your vehicle.

2 8" powered subs...
I put in a powered 8" bandpass sub from dual. inexpensive but if you want to have a huge improvement on the whole SQ of the system, then this could be an idea for you. at moderate levels (you have to speak loud to hear your passanger) you get a moderate chest pounding with the bass and it is nice and tight.
If I had the money the only difference I would do is to have the same sub but have 2 of them :) in my opinion 8" subs respond faster with tighter bass without shaking the licence plate. here is the crutchfield equivelent two these in your trunk will really put out great bass for under 300 dollars. http://www.crutchfield.ca/Sound_Ordn...e_p/777b8p.htm good luck randy |
8" subs "respond faster"
To what? Do you ask them questions? 15 years of forums and still the same madness being . Good times. |
