What kind of speakers ?

Hey there...

I've got a 4 channel amp pushing 80W per channel, and I'm driving an 06 Ion... so, 4 X 6.75" speakers.... so, I'm looking for a good set of 6½ or 6¾ speakers.

I'm not too sure about getting coaxials or components. Maybe components for the front and coaxials for the rear.... or components up front and mid-bass woofers for the rear... not sure....

and I already have a 10" Alpine TypeR Sub driven my an Alpine M450 amp.

Anyways, was thinking of Swiss Audio or Canton... Any opinions ?

Speaker choice

Depending on your budget, I'd suggest you consider the Morel Speaker line.

Or of course the Budgets choice, Alpine Type R comps.

**** it, if yer gonna get Morel why not just fork out the 4G's for Focal BE's or Brax Reference.

I have an 05 ion Sedan and I just got type R components for the front, I plan on the coaxels for the rear and an MRF-545 (I think thats what its called, looks like the MRD-1005

ok here goes nothing

jbl, kicker, alpine, infinity, rockford, pioneer, sony, kenwood, etc .. etc... etc...

they all make decent speakers. go out and listen to some at a store and decide for your self what sounds best. if you arnt sure between 2 or maybe 3 speakers. then post them specificly . and even then you will get differning opinions.

Price range kinda helps when choosing new speakers....lots of options to consider here, it would be nice to zero in on a couple of good choices based on price.

If you're looking for budget, I noticed that scosche Makes a nice 6.5" OEM replacement - complete with a whizzer cone for your highs, paper woofer and foam surrounds. :p

Sorry, after reading a number of high-end recommendations, I wanted to get in on the opposite end of the spectrum since no price point was mentioned.

The best thing is to listen to every brand you can find...then you know the Cantons were the best choice! :smilie_da
