Im about to basically deaden the majority of my car and im wondering what the cheapest alternative to spray deadening would be? I have seen alot of people used rubberized under coating before, assuming I shoot on a few layers on the back of the interior panels can I expect decent results? Is the really a big difference when compared to a product like cascade spray deadening?

Over at the Termpro forums some guys have used a product called Peal & Seal. Its used under shingles, i guess it does the trick. Ill give it a try on my winter car and see how it does.

I recommend using the cheaper stuff (asphalt based matting), ie., peel and seal, ice guard, etc. for the flat, horizontal surfaces (trunk floor, cabin floor, gas tank top) and try to spring for some decent dampening mat for the doors (and other vertical surfaces). I'd use spray materials for the hard to reach/adhere to surfaces. This should maximize your budget. I've heard good things about b quiet and it's decently priced. I understand Dynamat extreme to be great, but it's very expensive. I picked up a 62.5 sq ft.roll of Raamat BXT (the newer stuff) for under $120 Cdn. shipped (so far so good). Cheers.

Look for a product by "john's Manville" called "Duxseal".(used in roofing insulation)
It's an asbestos based putty(so you won't breathe it), and it acts as a great (fireproof/die-electric)dampener.
I used to buy a 20lb. brick for $25.

Contact cement + anything that will mass load the panel.... I found tar paper/contact cement to be cheap and effective...... especially if you can find 4gal jugs of the cement 4 cheap...

My buddy gave me a couple rolls of stickey tar mat with foil backing used for roofing... Iam guessing it's similar to peel-n-seal... put some in a guys trunk/doors back in july and it's still sticking... lol..
