They are 5 1/4 rear and 6.5 up front. I have two 10" Orion HCCA's on 2k. It overpowers the music regardless. ;) But you would be surprised as to how much mid bass the 6.5 Type R's put out in my doors. :) My wife drives the car too and she keeps the subs down. So for her sake I would like to keep the music as full range as possible for a richer sound. I hear you though too and that's why I asked the question to begin with. I wanted to get more volume out of them by raising the x-over point but still keep some mid bass. I just wanted to know where that piont should be. After researching I don't think there is a set answer and it's subjective. So I've been playing around with it to see where a good balance of volume and mid bass is. I have found though that if I turn the x-over to about 100hz front or rear that yes I get more volume but it doesn't sound very good. It's almost distorted. Before this I have been running full range rear and full range front utilizing the built in passive x-over that came with the components and I think I'll just keep it that way. I would rather have richer/fuller sound rather then louder distorted sound. Same with the wifey. I don't know why it sounds so bad when the x-over is up but oh well.
