01 Civic DeCK REMOVAL!
I did this in my ’05 civic last week. You have to remove the entire center console first, then remove two 8 mm bolts (right above where the cig lighter would be if the console was still in).
Then carefully pry out the panel with the deck and a/c controls on it (held in by about 8 clips). Once the panel is loose, disconnect the wiring harnesses and antennae. Once the panel is free, remove the a/c controls (3 screws on back) so you can remove the bolts from the mounting bracket for the stock deck. Install your dash kit, then put the a/c controls back on insert the wiring harnesses back into the panel and then pop the panel back into place (make sure the clips hold it in).
Aside from wiring and putting in the new deck, just put the 8 mm bolts back in and re-install the center console.
Hope this helps,
