well my question is fairly simple; has anyone worked on one of these 2004 prius's and installed a remote start? please let me know the information that u have if you don't mind and also what u did for a transponder by-pass! Thanx! :D

they are correct on most applications  |
thanks rob! but i don't think that this will help me man. the reason that i asked is cause there is also the issue of this car does not start the engine up when u turn it on. it only starts up if you want heat and that doesn't even come into affect for about thirty seconds after u have pressed the vehicles on button! this would obviously not make it possible for the remotstarter to detect tach?! i hope every one can now see my canundrum and will now come to my aid. I've played with one of these cars before...They are definatly cool cars.
I don't think you would even use a normal remote starter unit... Just a remote control device that controls the "power" button on the car and transponder bypass. Shuts down with a timer circuit or by pressing the brake pedal. Once somebody figgures it out, it may actually be fairly simple |
I was interested in doing this a few months ago... This sparked my interest again.
I'm currently printing up PDF diagrams of the entire electrical system |
i think the remote starter's glow plug curcuit could be used as a delay
