1995 Camaro Speaker Question

Hey guys... first off I'm new to the site, but I appreciate your help ahead of time. Usually car audio is not my forte, but I am going to start rebuilding my '95 camaro Z28 soon and would like to learn a few things along the way.

So a little background first... my camaro's factory system was the Bose system (2 door speakers, 2 in the back, and a sub), but about 4 years ago, I had Circuit City put in a Pioneer HU. They did a horrible job and went out of business the following week so I was unable to bring the unit back. Anyway, although the HU doesn't work properly (produces sound, face plate malfunctions), I am looking to temporarily upgrade my 6.5" door speakers as the one on the driver's side is destroyed. When someone did work on the door previously, they stuck a screwdriver through the speaker while removing the panel and, low and behold, the speaker no longer produces any sound.

So to the question... I know Bose systems have special "amplifiers" for each factory speaker, requiring additional work when installing an aftermarket HU, but since I already have an aftermarket Pioneer HU installed, can I just find some decent speakers to essentially plug-n-play? Or would there be a bunch of additional work that would need to be done?

I hope this question makes sense. Thanks again for the help.

You should be able to just replace the speakers. The factory ones are probably lower in impedance so the new ones might be quieter.
