2007 Dodge Caliber Deck install

Just got a 2007 Dodge Caliber. sound system is ok,, but not good enough for me.

Does this car have a retention issue? Or can I swap out the deck normally?

shanks.

Changing the deck won't change the way the stereo sounds. Need to change the speakers to do that.

All new Chryslers are on the CAN bus system what i've been told,So just like the 2000 up Gm's it won't retain the RAP feat switched acces power with out that module.

So yes you do have to get that harness, same thing like the 300c's chargers and the magnums.

This include say the Chim for your lights on? Door open? and the radio still playing while the car is off untill you open doors?

IF so, you can still install the deck on a regular wire harness if you find your own 12v right?

R.A.P

Retain,Acces,power

I haven’t worked on a 06-07 Chrysler Product yet doing audio work, but seeing when GM did this in 2000 and you did loose your chimes and a cuple other things if not using the a interface. I can see Chrysler doing it.

Now GM has Onstar???,what is the thing you can get on the Chrysler products/Fords.

The reason I ask is because if it has that sort of system you might just loose it if you don't use the right interfaces.

But all you need a is a switched 12v source if you do get the regular harness

But Like I said I have never done audio work on these Vehicles yet, but a Dodge cailper forum would be your best bet to tell you if a harness from a Sebring would work.
