well here's the deal....i'm more of a home audio fanatic because i don't have a car....but sound is my life and i love music...
i have a jvc home theatre receiver that's amp outputs in 8 ohms, it's model RX-6030V and my question is if while upgrading my large speakers, if i can use a 4 ohm infinity subwoofer http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...92&catid=11052 i believe that there wouldn't be too much of a problem...let me know wut u think |
You will have to check your owners manual to see if the amp(receiver) will run at 4ohms.

If you want to use that subwoofer you will want to use an outboard amp to drive it. That reciever will have troubles driving speakers rated lower than 6ohms, and it wouldn't put out enough power to really drive that sub.
Look for a used monoblock power amplifier rated for around 200watts at 4ohms. |
Agreed.
