04 Silv SS New HU Install with Bose and Sub Amp

Hi All,

I have a question, I am looking at my wiring digram for my Alpine 900BT and I am installing in a Silverado SS with Bose, I have the pac modules I need BUT my question is this.

Can I hook up the HU as is with the pac modules retain the bose etc,, and then run a set of RCA's from the HU's subwoofer output to an addtn'l aftermarket amp for the sub as the front and rear RCA's are used by the pac module/bose sytem. The Bose Sub would still be in the system and I am wondering if I should disconnect it or just leave it and try to tune the system with it still in the loop.

Thanks,

Dave

IMO I would take out everything with Bose on it and burn it but it sounds like you don't want to do that.

Yes you can run a new sub amp off of the deck RCAs and for sure take out the bose sub.

10-4 guys, Thanks, OK, so since I have had to order the optical cable from Alpine (RIPOFF) I have been thinking about replacing it all and installing my H701 as well. My question then is what do I need to keep the features of the truck that currently run through the bose if anything. I have a GM24, swijack and tr7 currently. If not keeping the bose I guess the GM24 is useless. Thanks,

Dave

i have an 04 avalanche with blows.. the only thing u lose is the chimes.. most dont care about them. i did and when i replaced my system i did it hu first than later added the speakers and amps. i used an pac adapter at the time to retain all and tie into the harness. when i amped my system i kept the pac adapter and located the front drivers speaker wire under the dash added a speaker and mounted it there. now i have an all aftermarket system but still have chimes.. my only prob is i didnt disconnect the factory sub so it goes with the chimes. sounds a little weird but one day i will disconnect it.
if u dont care about the chimes which let u know things like; door ajar, engine light, low oil, ect, ect.. disconnect the amps altogether and ur good to go
