4 wires going into stock woofer!?
Hey gang, I'm trying to upgrade the rear deck speaker sin my '18 accord sport. The rear has a paid of stock components so I purchased aftermarket components to replace them, however... I noticed that the harness for the woofer has 4 wires in it (2blue, 2 white) and the tweeter has 2 wires (1blue, 1 white). Should I assume that this means the woofer has a crossover in it and that it jump back out to feed the tweeter? I've never seen 4 wires going into a single component woofer before so that's the only thing I can think of, that the woofer contains a passive crossover and then jumps out to the tweeter.
Also, it's a 180 watt factory system. So I assume that would be 4 channels @ 45watt/each with each channel splitting power between woofer and tweeter component. If that's the case, getting a 4 channel @ 45watts rms for my components would basically be replacing the power with the same amount right? Or would there be a benefit to using an amp for the same 45watts? Ugh.
Anyway, I could sure use some reassurance from someone who's dealt with this before or can offer some insight.
