5 Volt drain! Should I double up the alternator or battery?

I'm running 2 x 12" RD Heavyweights with a Kole 7000.1 at 4000 rms with a 6 farad capacitor. The cap reads at its lowest 9.? on the long bass notes. I was told I can put another alt in the place where my supercharger should go. So the amp needs more power, the subs can handle more, what do you think? Please give me your opinions

change an extra battery and beefed up alternator instead. look up an alternator that puts out more amps so it should be able to keep up longer as well as a second battery will hold a charge better then a cap any day.

should fix the problem. if not try the big 3 as well. forgot to mention

My big 3 is 4g power line 0 ground, but what are you talking about "6 runs"?
Does it matter what kind of battery, for example a 60 or 72 amp, deep cycle, small car or truck battery? i'm new, don't laugh

oh ur looking at my signature. thats what i have done to my car for spl.

well first off you might wanna try a beefier battery as well. try odyssey. Pricey but they are worth it. I only use one for a 5k amp and my lights dont dim and i dont even have the big 3 done lol.

if your gonna go with an extra battery you wanna try to get the same kind of battery. if its gel cel or deep cycle or plain old water. try to keep the same kind.

make sure its a 14 volt battery. come batteries can be 16-18 volts but you gotta upgrade all ur electrical.

if you wanna know what i mean by 6 runs of 0 gauge its 3 negatives and 3 positives ran from my battery to my trunk to power my amp. they are ran to buss bars and then to the amp. thats so the final run to the amp is very short and can get the power it needs without hassle. even with 0 gauge its still a drain on the amp if u only got a single run.

See, thats why i should have joined a place like this a long time ago.
I did not know that. I'm going to run another line back to my amp, then i'll put in another battery. Do i wire it in just like the cap?

dude, starting more threads about the same thing is going to get u into trouble here..
as already stated. ho alt and 2 batts and u will be fine.
get rid of the caps, they are doing nothing for u at all
there are tons of peeps here that are running way more than u and dont need 2 alts
btw u will need to do an all 0ga big3 with a ho alt. grounds and power. having a 0ga ground with a 4ga power is starving ur system. its a bottle neck

Thanks guys

So i put in a battery beside my amp along side my capacitor and it never reads below 12v, thanks
