6x9 modification install in 95 chev truck
Hi, i was wondering if there is any way too modify and put 6x9's in the doors of a single cab 95 chev truck ( Where the 6 1/2's are ) or in the rear back panel just behind the head rests ( where the I think are 5x7's or smaller) Or if there is something i can buy to convert it over. i would much rather put them in the doors than behind . Thanks. If anyone had any sucess with this type of install please let me know
Thanks, Would you happen to know the exact size of the stock front and back in the 95 chev. I think the doors are 6 1/2 but could be one step smaller i am not positive. and the rear i thought are 5x7 but again i could be wrong. They are the factory ones in it.
I put a set o 6x9s in my buddys 02 single cab,not very hard to do. Just made a template out of sheetmetal riveted it in and installed 6x9s. There was no modification to the inner door panel either, fit right over the 6x9s nicely.
I will admit though it was his pesonal preference to do this over 6.5s and i dont figure 6x9s to sound far better, but they did wind up sounding great.
