I'm doing an install on my friend's 85 nissan 240 zx. Now there is a storage spot right behind the seats that I want to use for the sub enclosure/amp rack. Has anybody done this before and if so do you have some pics?

 

in 85 I thought it was the 280ZX...

whenever you touch a vintage car you alter the value of the vehicle as a collectors item. Be carefull not to be 'to blame' for lowering the value of a collectable. You can also significantly enhance the value BTW... just dont be a patsy

 

I totally know what you mean about hacking it up JohnVroom. I'm not touching any panels or altering. There is a small storage compartment behind the seats that I'm converting to a box to hold one Kicker CVR 10.

 

This is a good time to try stuff like this with the thin mount subs out there and the tiny 'digital' amps

 

For amps I'm going back to the glory days of the car. I have an Autotek Model 99 to run the sub that was in my old car back in the day and power coustic crossover and amp to do the rest. The old mean machine is a tank and will easily pump the kicker without breaking a sweat.
