93 civic build.. planning stages.. need help!!
alright so as a few of you may already know.. in this up coming week i am getting a 93 honda civic si coupe.
now i'm planning on buying a full SQ system piece by piece and tweak it as i go.. and once i have everything i'm going to do the install that i've been picturing and tweaking in my head over the past few weeks.. lol
anyways i'm looking to get a set of 10's or 12's depending on how much room i have in the car were they will be going in the end.. 3-ways for the front but i'm gonna start with 2-ways and possibly add rear fill later on. for a deck i'm looking for something that will give me time alignment and active crossovers .. i've been looking at the eclipse cd7200 mkII and think it would be a good candidate for this build.. but if i can't get it locally i'm probably just gonig to go with something else that gives me alot of great features to tweak my tunes unless one of the shops can order it..
as far as budget goes.. its pretty flexible cause i haven't got very many bills and they aren't big bills by any means and i've got a pretty decent income right now..
now heres where i need help.. which gear should i pick up along the way? i've been looking around at a few different brands like kicker alpine and like brands you can get at best buy or futureshop.. but i haven't been able to audition many subs properly (not on a wall with a bunch of other subs) and so i don't really have a good idea what each of these subs sound like set-up properly.. same story for the speakers.. never had a "proper" audition of ny of em with the amps tuned properly
compnents i wanna go with 6.5's and i can run as many amps as needed really and i don't care about matching up brands amps to speakers/ subs visa versa..
any help would be greatly appreciated.. and any vendors out there if you could score me a sweet deal on a full set-up right off the bat that would be awesome

I has the goods! Sadly though I also have a good drunk going on right now as I am in Mexico until tomorrow night. I will be back to my shop on monday morning 10:00am PST and will be free to either call you or talk via msn at that time. (Sunday I can work from home as well but I don't anticipate being sober by then.)
alright sounds good man
if i go with the full system off the get go then save up for the building materials and all new wires and junk it'll be a lil longer than this up coming week till i can make a purchase.. however i would like to still get a new HU and re-do the wiring in behind the deck...
thanks for the speedy reply though MR2NR every post i see you make is always to great benefit of the OP
i'll PM you with my e-mail to add me to MSN and my phone number if you would like to call me

i'll look into it
i'm tryin to stay away from alpine as much though cuz with their decks there's all the extras you gotta get to get the FULL use out of em..
but heres a few decks i've been lookin at gettin
kenwood excelon KDC-X794 or 994
eclipse CD5030 or CD7200mkII
premier DEH-P800PRS
alpine CDA-117 and now the 9887
and a sub and amp combo i kind of have in mind but am not really solid on it is the new JL CP108LG W3v3 x2 powered by 2 konaki KO-NA3601. i read a review on this amp in an issue of performance auto and sound and the actual rated power output is 363Wx2 @ 1 Ohm @ 14.4V and 275W x1 @ 1 Ohm@12.6V and looks to be a good match for these subs.

I am back but just cruising quickly through things. 187 e-mails to go through and all the crap around the house that needs to be done. Go with the CD5030, I highly doubt you need to go to the CD7200ii, save the $ and put it towards better speakers.
what would the positives and negatives to each deck be? i know they all have generally the same features... but theres has to be one that shall triumph in the end..
i'm pretty sold on the kenwood and the eclipse though...

and plans have maybe changed.. same car different year.. different color.. black instead of red and less rust and a 94 instead of a 93
and this may now be moving faster as the new car won't be coming with a deck or speakers or subs..
it has 2 12" kicker cvr comps, JL 6.5 mids and tweets and a panasonic deck
as far as i can tell the speakers are powered off the deck and the sub is powered off a alpine vpower 850W amp
