accessory wire in mk3 GTi
I can't seem to find an accessory wire in my dash.
I've had a switch on the turn on lead for my deck but I'm getting tired of having to flip it everytime I want my unit off. I want it to go off with the key. Any ideas? |
have you checked the key cylinder for the ACC wire? there's one there. you could always use a relay to tap off from another switched 12v source under the dash...

I didn't wanna have to pull my column apart, I was kinda hoping that there would be a wire in amongst the the ones in my dash.
I checked all the ones that were visible but I thought there might be one tucked under somewhere. I guess I'll have to tap into my cylinder. Thanks for the advice. |
what year golf?
dont you have the stock deck wire avalible? http://installdr.com/Harnesses/VW-Wiring.pdf |
Older Golfs (and Jettas I believe) don't have an ACC wire. Often one can be found in the harness to the left of the deck, behind where the switch blanks are.
I think that's how it is - I'm kinda burnt today :ohwell: |
