Alpine iPod Video?

Hello everyone.

I have installed my Alpine IVA D106

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-E4oX2qEpCM3/p_500IVAD106/Alpine-IVA-D106.html?tab=review

Now the cord for the iPod has the connection to the deck as well as a video cord.

I can not seem to get the video to show on the deck?! I have a bypass so thats not the problem, i have playlist and nothing shows up.

Do I have the video plugged into something I shouldnt? I believe I had it plugged into aux 2.

Thanks for the help!

Hey justdez,

You may also want to check your iPod video settings for "TV Out" set to ON.

If all of the settings in the iPod/D106 are turned on, check the 1/8" video plug connection, give the connector a gentle turn or twist. If video comes on briefly, bring the cable back for another one. They have had some issues with this...

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Rino

you don't need the ipod on tv out. you do however need to set your head unit to play video. go to source? or whatever button it is to switch from radio/cd/ipod etc... then try and find rse and choose aux. just look for something where there's a list of different inputs. put your car in park. or stop with your foot on the brake if you have a manual. then pull up the e-brake. (while holding your foot on the brake if you're in a manual) then drop it down again. now pull it up one last time and take your foot off the brake while you're pulling it up. let it click one more time after your foot is off the brake. if you changed your rse to aux and have a video playing then once you've stepped off the brake it should pop up on the screen within seconds. I don't know if it's the same for this model so sorry if that didn't help. but if you still can't get it to work call alpine or find someone with the same deck. hope that helped.

thanks hoponpop!

I have the by pass to do the switch by hand without the brake and switch,
I have not tryed the aux button yet only the iPod button.

My main real question I guess is does it matter which yellow cord is plugged into what source? Does it have to be one, two etc.

Ill try it on thursday hopefully I can figure this out, the local shop said they don't know how to get it to work. :S It plays iPod im just thinking maybe not videos? :S

I didn't realize you had an ipod->video out (yellow, white.red) chord. you should try keeping it on ipod and finding the rule of the red white yellow for ipod video to tv. it's switched, i'll try and find it. you would also have to set your ipod to video out. my bad.

edit: I found it. red into yellow. yellow into white and white into red.

No I have the cord that plugs into the bottom of the iPod that plugs direct into the deck, but theres a yellow wire that comes out I will try to find a picture of it.

Also found my exact model

yea, I found it on the alpine site before. I figured it was like the one I have so I just gave you the tips that helped me figure mine out.

that's what I used. it doesn't say that you have to do the whole park e-brake up, down(while your foot is on the brake) then up one last time and take your foot off the brake as you're pulling it up releasing the brake and clicking the e-brake up one last time. hope I could help.
