Alpine MRD-M1001 and one ohm???

Alpine MRD-M1001 and one ohm???

does any one know if a MRD-M1001 will do one ohm??? and if so power??

the alpine amps are only stable down to 2 ohm and the MRD-M1001 is
500w at 4 ohm
1000w at 2 ohm

Mine would not do one ohm when I had it, which is why I dont have it anymore.

These will not do 1ohm at all, they are very fussy in that sense~!

I posted this before, because I wondered the same thing, but the sales guy in our shop was messing around one day and I came out to see what he was doing, he had an mrd-m450 loaded down to about 1/2ohm and it wouldnt quit. Right now I'm using 2 of these to run 3 dual 4ohm type R's. All in parallel and sounding good. Just my experience. On a side note the "new excelon" amps that claim 1 ohm apparently dont hold up, they actually recommend "not" to load them down that much.??

It might not shut down, but I'm sure you're not getting the amps full power output either. With Alpine's "no shutdown" feature, when the amp becomes too hot or overloaded it scales back power output until either the temperature cools or the load is reduced.

I am going to retact my previous statement, went out and tried 1ohm and it cut out at sbout 1/2 volume
