Just a question I had a friend who installed an amp.. She said that she had her power wire from the battery was disconnected when she hooked everything back up the amp turned on but there was a humm and not much bass comming out The amp before she installed was fine and worked perfectly.. the ground was checked and everything seemed ok... so she took the amp down to a dealer and they said that the amp was blown...Even if she had the wire connected to the battery before hooking the ground up would the amp blow??? I'm not really sure about this so I thought I would get you guys to help me out..

well its not blownif the amp turns on, maybe some weak singals, mayne ground loop? maybe the ground wire isnt grounded right (grounded to metal covered with paint) maybe the rca's are close to the power, i dont know, maybe bad singal from the dekc, maybe the amp is set wrong

^^^^ like slammed says check the input sensitivity and RCA cables. It could be a bad connection of the RCA's, if you hear sound the amp usually isn't blown. Check the voltage at the amp terminals too. Could be a bad sub, or speaker wire shorted to ground somewhere.
