Amp Kit questions
Im going to be installing my system in the next couple of days. My friend has an amp available for me that would be perfect for my system. Its a 2600 watt pyramid amp, http://www.pyramidcaraudio.com/itempage.asp?model=PB2600. Im planning on using it to power my 2 4-ohm infinity 12.1 subs. First i wanted to make sure that my set up is proper, what gauge amp kit i should use, and if i need a cap?
from what i have read most people are against caps, i just dont want my system to drain my battery easy as hell.

caps wont prevent your bettery from being drained a capacitor is basically a very short term recharable battery when your amps draw alot of power very fast such as during a hard bass hit a capacitor will alllow your amp to draw more power than your battery will provide for a very short periods of time and then the capacitor rechargers itself very quickly afterwards.
ideally you should run a 0 gauge wiring kit however depending on your budget a 2 gauge or even a 4 gauge kit will work as well.
i would get your system running and see how it sounds before you add a cap if your lights dim slightly on hard bass hits then a capacitor would help but if your lights dim like crazy chances are you will need to do more work on the electrical system i.e (big 3, bigger battery, bigger alternator, etc) as well as adding a cap.
good luck with your setup.
Ben.
