Amp and Sub Connection

Quick question. When a Amp says it's rated for 2 ohms at a certain amount of wattage, and a speaker is 4 ohms, when you wire the speaker for 4 ohms, that means when it gets to the amp it goes down to 2 correct? Also another quick question, on some amplifiers, they talk about bridging to reach a certain wattage or ohms. Now usually they have 4 connectors but still 1 channel inside the amp. When bridging, instead of using the + - thats closest together, you use the two on the outside (for example, if an amp went + + - -, you would use the first positive, and last negative, instead of first positive and first negative correct?). Also has anyone had any experience with the Kicker ZX300.1? I can get it for 110-120 shipped. It comes factory refurbished (refurbished with kicker), and im not really gunna be beating the out of it, just need some bass for my winter beater. Thanks in advance for your advice and wisdom.

no, if its a single 4ohm voice coil, then its showing the amp a 4ohm load and you will be giving the sub whatever that amp is rated at for 4ohms.

On a MONO amp, yes. Your Kicker is a mono amp.

On a 2channel amp that is bridged, then the amp behaves like it is driving half of the speaker load.

These are also dual voice coil 4 ohms the older ones, the 2 new ones are dual 2 ohms. That make any difference?

Yes, Dual 4 ohm subs can either be wired to 2ohms or 8ohms and a dual 2ohm sub can be wire to 1ohm or 4ohm.

Sweet thanks a lot. So I need to wire these in parallel, no series? And Do you know if that ZX300.1 Kicker amp is any good? Or has anyone heard anything good about it?
