Ok.. I am still baffled why my buddies car sounds 3 times louder with a stock deck than mine with my Panasonic.

Same equipment. Now we threw my sub box in his car to make sure it wasn't maybe the subs. I DOUBT this is it, but.. hes subs are running off of 4 and 2, not 4 and 3.

Is there anything special by running like that, such as the fact that the amp can send a bit more juice since 2 and 1, and 4 and 3 are on different channel settings (although, the settings are the same).

Hes even running smaller 8 guage wiring, and I'm running 4.

I'm still confused. Same box, same everything... Was always loud, in truck, even in the car, which is the same size as mine, its a hatch.

Is there a possibility your buddy is running his amp in bridged mode and you are not?

Or if both of you are running in bridged mode, that your wiring is done incorrectly for bridged mode.

Take a read through the amplifier's owner's manual and read up on wiring/bridging etc.

Since your buddy is using a stock deck, I am assuming that he is using either a high-level input or a line convertor. Either way that he has this set up could produce quite different results with a similar gain setting. After reading up on wiring (and everything has been done right) try playing with the gain.
