im not convinced upon that, i think you would really need to know what the computers up to, beside i think technically they are illegal cause u can't make it not display movies while driving, unless the infill got around that. either way, if ur installing the computer and don't know anything technical about computers i wouldn't bother, for 1 a normal hard drive can not make it though a Toronto winter. i had an 80 gig laptop drive and although it made it through its pretty much garbage now.

all im saying is prepare for a few musicless drives and a few headaches, although when it all works properly it is infinitely better than any normal car audio/video stuff i've seen/used.

First off there are ways to set it up legally.. such as having it hooked up to your emergency brake, so that it can only display when the brake is engaged (Which is needed in most places in Canada!!)

Second off... you seriously gonna tell someone that.. just cuz u bought a bad harddrive that cant handle very cold temp.. or cant winter proof the case means nothing.. besides u know nothing about computers...

Ive had mine in my car for 4years now.. no skips, no errors, no hardware problems at all, and i got a 7" touchscreen in the dash hooked up to a great sound system..

And the car computer i use was made from old computer parts i had lying around my house and made a wooden case for it..

Mp3car.com -- go to the forums, they have everything you need on installing a computer into your car if you want to do it urself..

What Kind of power supply do you use

I'm getting ready to build one and thats all I need left on the list

But don't know how a normal one will hold up,as if you keep turning the car on and off and forget to turn the computer off.

I'm not big on computers so thats why I was wondering what one you used and did you use a wire up a relay or two before shutting the car off.
