anyone know their GMC Sierra's well from 94 & 95???
I'd like to know if the factory cd deck from a 95 GMC Sierra can fit in the dash of a 94 GMC Sierra?
The 94 only had a cassette deck option, no cd deck was available.
Of course in 95 they started offering a cd deck.
So in order to keep the factory look in the dash I'd like to swap in a 95 cd deck. But I don't know if the sizes of everything were the same between the 94 & 95. Can it just slide right in? plug and play?
it's a GMC 3500 if that matters.
thanks

If I Am Corect I Believe The Changeover Year Was 95 Fron The Style With The Seperate Tape In The Dash Along With The Head Unit Controls By Heater Controls, In 95 They Canged To A One Piece Head Unit. Hope This Helps

JRStar is right - the answer is no.
In the 94 the radio is 3pcs with the controller by the instrument cluster while the cassette deck is in the middle of the dash under the center heater vents. This is where a custom radio goes by way of an aftermarket kit:
THen the controller part can be replaced with a pocket:
In the 95 the radio is a one piece DIN+1/2 unit up in the instrument cluster that takes this kit to place it properly in the hole:

hmmmmm....
ok, so lets just leave that 94 cassette piece out of the picture altogether and ignore it for now, and just concentrate on the pieces in the center console area.
that big hole where the 94 controller goes - is that the same size as the 95 piece?
I can't really tell for sure from the pics you showed up above.
that middle picture with the pocket kinda looks the same size as the 95 piece you showed below it.
so if that pocket is installed (or maybe that bottom unit) then perhaps the 95 deck will mount inside that piece, and and then fit the 94 truck???

Didn't the new dash come a year later in the 3500's?
If it's the different dash styles I don't think it would work "plug and play"... the pre 95 controller was too narrow for an DIN headunit and the 95+ one was 1.5DIN.

yeah that's the sort of info I'm trying to find out...
did they totally change the dash layouts, plugs, connectors, etc
so that it is totally impossible to install the 95 unit into a 94 dash (without it looking like a hack job...)
