battery grounding
battery grounding
so i was wondering, why does my battery have 3 wires coming off for a ground? its an 03 dodge ram 1500 if yer wondering. im starting to install my system and am using new terminals and such. should i uninstall all 3 of these grounds and put just one 4 guage on? or should i keep them AND ground it again with a 4 guage?
well if i do leave them, i may aswell replace the one small one that clearly goes to the frame shouldn't i? its only like 6 inches and goes straight to it. and i also wont be using 0 guage cuz im in a pickup truck, so when i add my subs i wont need anything larger then 4 guage. cuz im only using 4 for the power wire.

Just add a run of 0awg or pretty much any other awg wire you have going to each place and you will be laughing.
The bigger the wire the better! If this is your first setup, and you get addicted to car stereo systems, its better to run 0awg so you have room to expand. Saves the hassle of having to buy two wiring kits.

I got a premade ground from my new fav store for wiring hahaha. TSC!
Just a foot long run of 0ga with a battery clamp on one end and a eye ring on the other i ran from top post of my optima to a bolt on the chassis and I was done! YAY!
