Battery Keeps Dieing

Hello, I am new to this forum so help me out haha. Okay well i have a kenwood KAC-9104D amp with 2 Alpine Type E 12 inch along with a 1 Farad Cap. My HU is JVC KD-LH300. My problem is that after about 2 or 3 days of just sitting there my battery would die. So i checked everything out did a load test on battery and alternator and everything is all good. so i just charged my battery back up with a regular battery charger. OK so yesterday i was out went to a store and left turned my car into auxillary so my stereo would still be going. I was in there more than 10 minutes and the stereo was not pounding, tried to start my car and it would not turn over, that battery was dead, so today i took out my trusty multimeter and measured the current draw on the power wire going to the amp when my car is turned off. what i found was that as soon as i connected the meter in series it read about 80mA of draw the gradually went down to about 40mA and was stable there. So my question is what could be causeing this draw when there should be none? Could it be a bad capacitor or a bad amp?

Thanks in Advance

Ryan

its definitly possible... done it a couple times, wasnt thinking one morning after a party and kept it on while we helped clean outside and then it died. needed a boost to leave after we were done lol. if your cars not on, your alt isnt keeping your juices up in the battery. this will also definitely happen quick with a stock batt. i upgraded mine and it lasts a bit longer with the engine off.. annd thats because its a cruddy canadian tire battery.

Even after 10 minutes and it wasnt even pounding that hard, but what about the 40mA draw when the car is off and the stereo is off and the amp is off?

thats gonna need someone who has more experience than me to come by and help you out, sorry man

but it is strange, are amps supposed to be doing that when even the deck is off and the remote lead isnt telling it to do anything..

check to see if the amp and your headunit are turning off when you turn your vehicle off. But take the cap out first because i think that is the problem
