Beyond Audio 15" X-One
I recently purchased this sub off a member of this board, i think thats the name/model of it.. I did some googling and searching of this site as well, but i can't seem to find any specs on this woofer.. perhaps someone on here would know? also what type of enclosure should I be looking to set this baby in. i'm dying to try it out, but with rather do it properly.
thanks a million, I can take pics for ident. purposes of the sub.

Do you mean a 15" X-One?
If so...
FS = 19.19 Hz
QTS = .3258
QES = .3484
QMS = 5.029
VAS = 8.39 ft^3
SPL = 88.66 (averaged over 10 - 100Hz)
BL = 19 tm
Re = 3.73
Mms = 254.80 grams
Le = 4.49
Xmax (w/8mm coil in gap) = .7" one way
Power handling 600w RMS
I hope this helps.
Cheers!

Oh and to the question of enclosure spec's - I only have the recommendations for an S/Q enclosure:
Sealed = 1.5 to 2.25 ft^3
Ported = 3 to 5 ft^3 tuned to 30 Hz
If you are looking for an SPL box, I can't help you - I have no info other than to try get in touch with dB Don, as he was the guy who made them.

thanks Blu, yes it is a 15" X-One, the gentleman who sold it to me said it was 300rms DVC, which i believe..
would it still pound in an SQ enclosure or would i be better off just going with an all out SPL box?

My pleasure.
The X-Ones were available with dual 4 ohm or Dual 2 ohm voice coils, so you may want to determine which you have.
As to the question of the SQ vs SPL enclosure, I can't say... I bought two 10" X-Ones but midway through the install process changed my mind on what my system plans were. So I have them N.I.B and never used!
What I can tell you is, from the product spec sheet, Beyond Audio designed the X-One for the budget concious SQ/SPL competitor. And according to a post that I printed from the old Beyond Audio forum on ezboard, dB Don stated:
"SQ box has no hope in hell of SPL output but will sound sweet and hit accurate on every note"
I guess the answer really comes down to what your system objectives are.
Sorry I can't be more help to you... I am just going from the old info sheets that I had printed out. I'm pretty sure that the shop Perfect Tones in Milton used to sell them... maybe they could help you out?

I've got the dual 2 ohm version, so far each of the subs i've put in my car have been SQ oriented, but I think i'd like to try an SPL enclosure and see how loud i get. I'd like to thank you again for the time you put into each of your posts, very helpful and i'll see if i can get ahold of DbDon for some specs of the SPL box or maybe give perfect tones a call.

those coils are huge!!
I found the old beyond audio forum and I saw a post DbDon made in response to someone who was looking for an SPL box for the same woofer and he recommended 4.5 cubes sealed.. does that sound right? the guy i bought it off of said he had it in a 2.0 cube sealed box and it sounded good.. maybe i should just call perfect tones.
