Blowing inline fuses

Ok I need some help my amp FJL-1611D Fusion keeps blowing the inline fuse. I had an 80amp in it. I've checked and recheck the wires and can't find anything wrong. So I unhooked the subs, put in a new fuse and it did the same thing, but right before the fuse went the amp made a hiss sound.

Please help, thanks.

Wait so the fuse under the hood is blowing? Ensure you have a good ground, and maybe get a bigger fuse... The Jonah 1611d spits out like 1500w @ 1 ohm if im not mistaken, I'd say get a bigger fuse.

how much power is the amp making right now the way it's wired up.?

the fuse might be blowing beause the 80 amp fuse is too small, but if your alternator, and battery setup can't give the amp the power it needs, then the voltage will drop, and the amps outputed from the battery will spike, thus blowing the fuse... I'd guess it's more of the second senario, rahter than the first...

regards, Mark

Also make sure you check the easiest thing. Make sure your wire isn't cut, and grounding itself out.
I've seen enough vehicles where this is an easy thing to happen.

a hiss sound ?

does the amp work at all or does the fuse pop as soon as it's powered up ?
