ok i have a power accustic 1600watt amp in my suburban and for some unknown reason i blew my battery fuse ( i was listen to my stereo at a respectable level) now i replaced my fuse holder now everytime i insert a fuse it blows (60AMP fuse) can anyone help me or let me know why it keeps blowing

 

becasue there is a short somewhere in your power line between your fuse holder and your am[

 

exactly.. that fuse is more for protecting against current flowing backwards it is not really necessary but good to have... also makes replacing it easier then replacing one in the amp lol

That's incorrect! that is the most important fuse in your car audio system. Should you have a short to ground anywhere after that fuse and up to and including your amp, it is the only thing protecting your car from burning to the ground. Most equipment comes with it's own protection fuse, so your job when installing is to protect the wires installed that are carrying the juice.
