Box Ideas?
I take it the rear seat was "in the upright and locked position" ?
How about augmenting to the design and trying a bass vent type(ducting the output of the woofers and port), firing into the rear window throught the rear parcel shelf(cutting may be required)? This will separate the trunk from the passanger compartment.

Rob and I have started ...well...sort of...putting together a new box for my car...But I dont honestly think it's going to be ready by Sunday...
If someone with a tablesaw, router, etc wants to help me out this coming Saturday night,I'm game for pulling an all-nighter...

Well...The box wasn't built..More like the box was rebuilt...
On DB's suggestion we ripped everything apart, knocked out the baffle and the port...
Pre-mod testing:141.x at about 50 hrtz on an Audio Control
post mod testing:135.1 at 68 plus hrtz...
We made the port too big...about 4 1/2 wide by 13.5 high and only about 6 inches or so deep....
On the upside,I can now reach in and tune the port..but on the downside,to screw anything on the bottom means pulling the carpet out, going in the car and pulling the spare cover out through the inside, then pulling the spare tire out, dropping the box into the sparetire well and then I can pull the box out..
Understand now why I want to build a different box the I would hope have the dimensions that would allow me to just reach in and pull it out...
Oh well...worse case for this weekends 2x event,I have a box the A-Rok gave me that I know hits low 140's...
Keep your ideas coming..

Try putting them 1.5 cu ft box each 1. And then port the box with 4" port round and the box in the trunk 6" away from the back. You will find it very good or make the box so the subs are in a tunnel . Which means the boxes on each side with the subs facing each other. And a hole in the middle so when you fold down your seats it will blow in hard .

Hey Folks...Team 8 Track here at db's shop with LBKC...
We built a new box tonight...THAT I DESIGNED!!
...with a little help from Rob on the port...But the main measurements were my doing.
I used a box that A-Rok had given me for a comp tonight...141.x!!Second place in Street A...So what I did was took the same basic slot port design and made it slightly better...
I modified the design in such a way that it makes it possible to get the box in and out without the jaws of life...
Rob then made a port design that tuned the box to about 46 htz. The box just shy of 3 cub. ft.
On the same mic we tested with last night, first burp out was a 142.2.....My highest ever...Shall be interesting to see what it does on the Term-Lab tommorow at the 2x show...
Once again thanks to Rob VO for his time and efforts...Thanks to Rick(db) for his time, use of his shop, use of his mic and the use of his computer for this posting..
Anyway...5am...Rob is just about done another box for the 15" DD...Good luck man..
BTW...dont be afraid to offer more ideas...some of them have been awesome!
