Hi, I am really new at this car audio stuff, but the speakers in my 93 camry are terrible, as is the cassette deck. I bought an alpine 9833 from a friend, and now I need speakers for it.

I need one set of 6x9's for the back and one set of 6x5's for the front. Is it important to match the speakers (ie. all 4 sony or 2 alpine, and 2 sony)?

Do I need coxial or component speakers? Or could I use either? What is the difference?

Thanks for your help in this!

I just want to know if I should buy coxial speakers, or component speakers.

My budget is 200 dollars for the 2 sets of speakers. I was thinking used infinity's off of ebay.

in the 93 camry if you look at the speakers what do you see one small one and one big one on each side
see i like component but you may need to place them. if you have one stock coxial set you need to find a places for the tweeters.then look at how /where /why to place them there

I get it now, I would need to drill out holes for tweeters somewhere on the dash. I guess i'll look for a pair of 2 way or 3 way infinity's since I have heard they are a good brand.

I agree with defro, my experience is what may sound good for some one else might not sound good to you. Everyone is individual. Good sound is individual.

x2. Also, A lot of people don't run speakers in the rear at all...this is for several reasons, but in terms of budget, you might consider investing what you're budgeting for two sets into one modest/decent set of components up front (where you'll be most of the time). You'll find plenty of used sets for sale. Happy hunting. Cheers.

I agree with Defro on a few points. I would look into a good coaxial speaker for a couple reasons.

1. you will find a better coax speaker in your price range while components usually start at that price.
2.Ease of installation. But look for a good coax with a tweeter that can be angled to help with imaging.

I also agree you should bring in some CD's but bring in good quality recordings and listen with them so you can actually appreciate the differance in quality.

I disagree with AudioVault. People dont hear differantly they need to be taught what good sound is with a proper demo. A typical demo these days is a joke because all the salesman does is crank the deck let the guy listen for 30 seconds and ask for his money rather than actually pointing out the increased detail in midrange or smooth high frequency ectt......
