serious help required

I have a Rockford Fosgate R2 shallow mount 10" sub which is 400 watts-200 RMS. My mid and tweets are also fosgate set up. My amp is an Autotek 1050.4 which is RMS power 125x4@4 ohms-250x4@2 ohms and bridged it is 500x2, but only on 2 channels. My problem is that when the sub is wired in either series or parallel and I attempt to bridge the amp on channels 3/4 the amp will shut down and go into protection. I have done everything that I know to do, however, it has been at least 15 years since I have put a stereo in. I am fairly certain that it is something simple that I am overlooking. I can unhook the sub and the amp will run the mids and highs no problem. Any help would be appreciated, I am at my wits end. Sorry I also have 8 gauge wire running everything.
