Components + tweeters Question
Components + tweeters Question
Hey,
I will be installing a pair of 6.5" Type X components in my car in the next week or so.
I have no experience in using or hooking up tweeters and crossovers. I don't think it should be to hard but I have a few questions.
How are the tweeters powered? I'll be running roughly 100wrms to each speaker but is there a distribution of this power that goes to the tweeter?
A friend of mine has them installed - at a local shop - and he has them set-up so that the components are powered by an amp and the tweeters are also amped seperatly. (4-channel amp, two channels to the compnent two to the speaker)
Do they have to be individually powered, or when they are hooked up in crossover is there sufficeint power?
I guess I am just confused. Any clarification would be great.
Thank you!
