I bought midbass speakers and now I need to have a bandpass crossover that will filter out below 200hz and above 4000hz I believe.

Will buying a crossover and using the lowpass filter on it to block out the high frequencies and the high pass filter on my amp to block out the low frequencies accomplish this?

Or is there an easier way to do it?

 

If you have adjustable crossover that will go to those frequencies it will work fine.

 

If you are using an amplifier solely for the midbass speakers than an external active crossover would work well. If you are using the amplifier for other speakers also you will have to use caps and inductors to filter the frequencies.

 

It somewhat was a challenge for me to get my theoretical 3 way setup going.
Because none of my amps have crossover functions, I'll be using 2 crossovers. One main one to split up most of the signal, and then another one to split between my 8" fronts (60-200) and then to 5¼" midrange (200-2.4kHz). The rest is handled by the tweeters. It'll take more than just a few amps to accomplish, too. [img]smile.gif[/img]
