Question

Hey guys, need your help !

I am upgrading my alternator form a stock 65amps to 140 amps. I am building a stereo so I need the extra juice.
Now the alternator that I bought has custom built internals. The guy told me that I don't need to use teh plug, only connect the positve termal plug.

Anyways, I was wondering what the green plug is used for ???

This is what the plug looks like: (you can barely see the green plug in this pic)

Well I found a lil info from crxresource.org

"The other plug only controls the voltage regulator. Chances are, this alternator runs at 140 AMPs all the time...with no voltage regulator. You don't need the other plug to have current flow. The positive terminal goes to the battery...the ground is that actual case off the alternator where it attaches to the engine bracket." -- crx resource

the green plug is indeed for the voltage regulator.
the new alt has a self exciting regulator.no need to connect anything but the battery cable.
