cv stroker help!!

I just aquired a 12" cerwin vega stroker the special d2 edition, when I hooked it up and turned up the volume it sounds like the sub is farting at high volume, Im wanting to know if this is common for these subs? Or is the sub screwed?

do I need to adjust the center piece up or down?

Unless you know what you're doing, don't adjust the upper spider.

You're going to have to give us more info before anyone can help you.
Describe your enclosure - net volume, tuning freq, braced/unbraced, port area?
How much power?
Does it sound like crap when hitting really low notes? High notes?

I would first make sure that you have adequate port area. Strokers can get really muddy sounding as enclosure size increases (not sure if this really relates to your problem, but maybe), but that's par for the course, at least with every 15 and 18 I've had. They also don't particularly love playing low-notes (especially in higher-tuned boxes with lots of power).

Once we know more we can better help you.

ok well right now its in a box that came with it that is not for this particular sub, I know this, I need to make a proper box for it, but dont know what size to make it or even the port size, for now I have a ultimate T3-1000d gonna be running the cv, and right now I think it is when it hits higher notes it makes that noise, not too sure at this moment because when it happened I was kinda pissy and turned it down I was payin atttention on where it was hitting at that time I just heard that sound and was worried it might be ****ed so I unpluged it and havent touched it since until I figure out how to set that adjuster and build a proper box
